Flu Busting Concoction

Next time you wake up with a sore throat, aches, and chills and think “oh crap, I’m getting sick!” FEAR NOT! Take a minute to make this flu busting drink and sip throughout the day. For more flu fighting tips check out this post


1 cinnamon stick
A few thick slices of fresh ginger
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp raw honey (or even better, Manuka honey)
A few whole cloves (optional)
1 clove raw garlic (if you’re feeling brave!)
Boiling water

Bash  cinnamon, ginger, garlic and cloves (if using) in a mortar and pestle. Put in a thermos and add lemon juice, honey and boiling water. Refill throughout the day.


Cinnamon – great for circulation. Keeps you warm and energized
Ginger – antibacterial and great for digestive upset
Lemon juice – alkalizing and an excellent source of vitamin C, a potent antioxidant
Raw honey – anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and soothing for a sore throat
Cloves – anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory
Garlic – anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, great for the liver (detoxing) and full of micronutrients including vitamin C!
